Biochemazone Simulated Urine as per TOP 08-2-501A Swatch Testing BZ386 is a sterile, ready-to-use simulated urine at pH 6.5 for the testing of swatches as per TOP 08-2-501A, the Test Operations Procedure for swatch testing of materials. It gives the test laboratory a urine of known and constant composition with which swatches of a material can be treated before or during the test.
The solution closely resembles real urine: it is colourless to slightly yellow – urobilin can be added on request – and odourless to slightly odorous, with a pH in the range 6.0 to 6.5. Besides swatch testing it is used for the testing of high-performance textiles, biosensor devices and biomedical products, and by laboratories as a matrix for quality-control preparations. It is formulated according to official testing methods and to published research data.
Unopened, it has a 1-year shelf life at 2–30 °C and is shipped at room temperature; a preservative-free version and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The formulation, minerals, inorganic content, pH and pack size can be customized. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only.
