Product Overview
Biochemazone DIN EN 1616:1999 Artificial Urine BZ102 is a ready-to-use artificial urine at pH 6.6 prepared according to the DIN EN 1616:1999 standard procedure. DIN EN 1616 specifies the methods for testing sterile urethral catheters, and BZ102 supplies the artificial urine those tests call for, so that the laboratory does not have to weigh, dissolve and adjust it for every test.
BZ102 is used by catheter manufacturers and test laboratories to test sterile urethral catheters, and in research on urological implants and other devices that come into contact with urine. The formulation simulates the mineral composition and pH of natural urine and gives the same test liquid in every batch.
Unopened, BZ102 has a 1-year shelf life at 2–30 °C; a dried Powder Version Kit is available on request. The pH and contents can be customized. This solution is intended for product testing and research, not for in vivo or medical use. For the later catheter standards see EN ISO 20696:2018 Artificial Urine (BZ346) and EN ISO 20697:2018 Artificial Urine (BZ378).
