Biochemazone DIN EN ISO 20696:2020-10 Artificial Urine BZ345 is a sterile, ready-to-use artificial urine at pH 6.6 prepared according to the DIN EN ISO 20696:2020-10 standard procedure. DIN EN ISO 20696 is the German edition of ISO 20696, which specifies the methods for testing sterile urethral catheters for single use, and BZ345 supplies the artificial urine those tests call for, so that the laboratory does not have to weigh, dissolve and adjust it for every test.
BZ345 is used by catheter manufacturers and test laboratories to test sterile urethral catheters, and in the study and testing of urological implants, biomedical devices and bio-metallic parts that come into contact with urine. The formulation simulates the mineral composition and pH of natural urine and gives the same test liquid in every batch.
Unopened, it has a 1-year shelf life at 2–30 °C and is shipped at room temperature; a preservative-free version and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The pH and contents can be customized. This solution is intended for product testing and research, not for in vivo or medical use.
