Biochemazone Synthetic Urine for Biomedical Applications BZ368 is a sterile, ready-to-use simulated urine at pH 6.2 that closely resembles normal human urine. It is colourless to slightly yellow – a colour dye gives it the look of real human urine – and odourless to slightly odorous, and the pH can be customized anywhere in the range 5.0 to 8.5.
Synthetic urine is used by diagnostic companies for the testing of biosensor devices and by the biomedical, textile testing and pharmaceutical industries and laboratories as a matrix for quality-control preparations. Makers of urine catheters, diapers, sanitary pads, high-performance textiles, biosensors and diagnostic tests all need to test their products against urine, and a synthetic urine gives the same, repeatable result anywhere and at any time.
It is supplied stabilized, with 0.05% preservative, and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The formulation, minerals, organic content, preservatives, pH and pack size can be customized. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only.
