Product Overview
Biochemazone Simulated Mouse Urine BZ366, also called synthetic mouse urine or artificial mouse/rat urine, is a sterile, ready-to-use synthetic urine that simulates the composition and pH of real mouse urine. The default pH is 6.1; it can be set anywhere in the range 5.0 to 8.5. It is colourless to slightly yellow – a colour dye gives it the look of real mouse urine – and odourless to slightly odorous.
BZ366 is used by diagnostic companies for the testing of biosensor devices, by the biomedical and textile testing industries, and by laboratories as a matrix for quality-control preparations. Makers of urine catheters, diapers, sanitary pads, high-performance textiles, biosensors and synthetic urine kits use it to test their products on materials and surfaces. It is formulated according to official testing methods and to published research data on artificial mouse urine, so that results can be repeated anywhere and at any time.
It is supplied stabilized, with 0.05% preservative, and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The formulation, minerals, organic content and pH can be customized. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment. For a blank rat-urine matrix for bioanalysis see Simulated Rat Urine BZ692; for bedding and litter tests see Small-Mammal Simulated Urine BZ701.
