Product Overview
Biochemazone Synthetic Soil – AATCC LP4-2023 BZ469 is a test soil formulated to meet the requirements of AATCC LP4-2023 for evaluating the soiling and staining performance of pile yarn floor coverings. It is made from the blend of components outlined in AATCC LP4-2023 and sieved through a 200-mesh sieve, so that the particle size is uniform and every batch soils a floor covering in the same way.
The soil is used in the standardized soiling methods AATCC TM122, AATCC TM123 and ASTM D6540: to measure how a carpet soils, how well it resists staining, how its appearance holds up in use and how well a cleaning method or a protective coating works. Flooring manufacturers, fibre and coating suppliers, test laboratories and universities use it for product development, quality control and research.
BZ469 can be ordered as Dried Powder or as a Premixed Ready to Use Formulation – the powder in 5 g, 10 g, 20 g and 50 g packs for making 50 mL, 100 mL, 200 mL and 500 mL, and the premixed formulation in 50 mL, 100 mL, 200 mL and 500 mL packs. The dried powder has a 2-year shelf life and can be reconstituted easily. Unopened, it has a 2-year shelf life at 2–30 °C and is shipped at room temperature. Two Versions to Select
- Dried Powder: The dry, sieved synthetic soil, to be applied or prepared as your test method specifies.
- Premixed Ready to Use Formulation: Supplied mixed and ready to apply, with no further preparation.
Select the version first and then the pack size. The Dried Powder has a 2-year shelf life and can be reconstituted easily: 5 grams is for making 50 mL, 10 grams is for making 100 mL, 20 grams is for making 200 mL and 50 grams is for making 500 mL. The Premixed Ready to Use Formulation is supplied in 50 mL, 100 mL, 200 mL and 500 mL packs.
How to Use
- Choose the version that suits the way your method applies the soil.
- Apply the synthetic soil following the guidelines of AATCC LP4-2023 and of the test method you are working to (AATCC TM122, AATCC TM123 or ASTM D6540).
- Assess the soiled specimen as the method describes, for example by colour difference or visual rating.
- Close the container tightly after use and store it at 2–30 °C.
