Product Overview

Biochemazone Huckers Test Soil BZ628 is a thick, mixed organic test soil used to challenge cleaning processes for reusable medical devices. It contains protein, carbohydrate and fat, so one soil tests a detergent against several kinds of residue at once. It has long been used in device cleaning validations and was cited in AAMI TIR30, which has now been replaced by ANSI/AAMI ST98:2022.

The soil is spread or brushed onto device surfaces, lumens or coupons, dried under controlled conditions and then cleaned by the process under test. Residues are measured with protein, carbohydrate or total organic carbon methods. Its pH is about 6.5 (range 6.0–7.0).

ANSI/AAMI ST98 asks for soils that are clinically relevant to the device, so confirm with your protocol that Huckers soil is appropriate. Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
