Biochemazone Artificial Urine with Odor BZ462 is a ready-to-use laboratory fluid at pH 6.0 that replicates the ionic composition and properties of natural urine and also carries its odour. It contains water, the essential electrolytes sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and chloride, urea and odour compounds. Its viscosity and density are matched to natural urine, and it is clear with a slight yellow tint.
BZ462 is used to study how urine and its odour act on materials, skin and products under controlled conditions: in the development of hygiene products and odour-control solutions, in absorption and material-durability tests, in urological studies, and to test and calibrate devices that come into contact with urine. It is also used in training for healthcare professionals, product developers and engineers. The composition, pH and viscosity stay stable through the test, which matters for long runs.
It is supplied stabilized, with 0.05% preservative, and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The pH can be customized. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only.
