Product Overview

Biochemazone 1 M Tris-HCl, pH 6.8 BZ206 is the standard buffer stock for the stacking gel of SDS-PAGE and native PAGE (Laemmli system) and for preparing protein sample (loading) buffer. A ready-made stock saves weighing and titration and helps give consistent stacking from gel to gel.

In the Laemmli system the stacking gel is buffered at pH 6.8, below the pH 8.8 of the resolving gel. This pH difference makes proteins concentrate into a thin band before they enter the resolving gel, giving sharper bands. BZ206 is typically diluted to about 0.125 M in the stacking gel and to 0.0625–0.125 M in SDS sample buffer.
