Biochemazone Synthetic Diabetic Wound Exudate BZ513 is a laboratory-formulated, sterile, ready-to-use simulant of the wound fluid of diabetic patients. It replicates the pH (about 7.4), viscosity, protein content, electrolyte balance and colour of diabetic wound exudate without any biological hazard: it is a water-based matrix of salts, proteins and inert additives, with no cells and no human-derived components.
It is designed for biomedical research, diagnostic device testing and wound care product development. The fluid is non-toxic and sterile-filtered, which makes it suited to benchtop experiments and to the evaluation of wound dressings, sensors and diagnostic systems under controlled conditions.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. Because it contains protein, keep it at 2–8 °C if it is to be stored for a long time. The pH, viscosity, protein content, glucose and electrolyte balance can be customized.
