Product Overview

Biochemazone Serosanguinous Drain Fluid BZ623 is a pink-red, blood-tinged wound-drainage simulant for testing negative-pressure wound therapy (NPWT) systems, wound drains, collection canisters and absorbent dressings. Serosanguinous fluid – thin exudate mixed with a little blood – is the most common drainage after surgery, and devices have to handle its protein content and viscosity without clogging or leaking.

The fluid contains protein and electrolytes at wound-exudate levels, a thickener to give a slightly higher viscosity than water, and a red colourant in place of blood. It has a pH of about 7.4 (range 7.2–7.6) and contains no blood, so it can be pumped through devices and disposed of as ordinary laboratory waste.

Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system and preserved for use in open flow rigs.

Key Features & Benefits
