Biochemazone Simulated Bile Juice BZ263, also called artificial bile fluid, is a sterile, ready-to-use solution that simulates the composition and pH of bile, at pH 7.50 to 8.05.
Bile acts as a surfactant that helps to emulsify the lipids in food. Bile salts gather around droplets of lipid and form micelles, which keeps the fat dispersed and gives the enzyme pancreatic lipase a much larger surface to work on; without bile salts, most of the lipids in food would pass undigested. This makes a bile simulant useful in in vitro digestion and dissolution research.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The pH and the contents can be customized to the project. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
