Product Overview
Biochemazone Artificial Urine BZ186 – also called synthetic urine or simulated urine – is a ready-to-use, stabilized solution at pH 6.0 ± 0.2 designed for testing the metallic biomaterials used to produce urological implants and catheters. It simulates the mineral composition and pH of natural urine and contains non-toxic preservatives that prevent bacterial growth.
The solution contains ammonium chloride, calcium chloride dihydrate, magnesium sulphate, potassium chloride, potassium phosphate, sodium chloride, dibasic sodium phosphate, monobasic sodium phosphate monohydrate, sodium citrate and sodium sulfate decahydrate. Urea, uric acid, acetic acid, creatinine hydrochloride and sodium sulphite are optional and are added to order.
BZ186 is supplied stabilized, with a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version is available on request. The stabilizer, preservatives, pH and contents can be customized. This solution is intended for product testing and research, not for in vivo or medical use. For the not-stabilized corrosion urine see Artificial Urine for Corrosion Testing of Urological Implants, Non Stabilized (BZ101); for a stabilized urine at pH 6.5 see Artificial Urine Stabilized (BZ104).
