Biochemazone Artificial Urine Stabilized BZ104 is a ready-to-use artificial urine at pH 6.5 that mimics real human urine and is designed for corrosion testing of urological implants. The formulation simulates the mineral composition and pH of natural urine and contains a non-toxic stabilizer that prevents microbial and fungal growth.
BZ104 has the same composition as Artificial Urine Medium for Growing Urological Pathogens (BZ103), with the stabilizer added, so it closely resembles human urine. It is used for the study and testing of catheters, urological implants and bio-metallic parts, and wherever a urine-like test liquid has to stay free of growth through a long test.
BZ104 is supplied stabilized, with a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version is available on request. The stabilizer, pH and contents can be customized. This solution is intended for product testing and research, not for in vivo or medical use. Frequently Asked Questions
Can BZ104 be used to grow bacteria?
No. The stabilizer in BZ104 prevents microbial and fungal growth. For culture work use Artificial Urine Medium for Growing Urological Pathogens (BZ103), which contains no preservative.
Is a version without preservative available?
Yes. BZ104 is stabilized as standard; a preservative-free version with a 6-month shelf life is supplied on request – state it in the order notes.
