Biochemazone Artificial Colonic Fluid BZ177, also called simulated or synthetic colonic fluid, is a sterile, ready-to-use solution that simulates the components and pH of colonic fluid, at pH 7.0. It is mainly composed of phosphate and is sterilized by 0.2 µm filtration.
It is used in the laboratory as a consistent stand-in for the fluid of the colon, for example in dissolution testing of colon-targeted formulations.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The pH and the contents can be customized to the project. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
