Product Overview
Biochemazone USP Simulated Gastric Fluid TS BZ574 is prepared to the United States Pharmacopeia test solution “Gastric Fluid, Simulated, TS”: sodium chloride and hydrochloric acid with purified pepsin, at a pH of about 1.2. It is the compendial medium for dissolution, disintegration and drug-release tests that call for simulated gastric fluid.
Two versions are offered. With pepsin follows the full USP TS composition (per litre: 2.0 g sodium chloride, 3.2 g pepsin and 7.0 mL hydrochloric acid). Without enzyme is the same acid–salt solution with the pepsin left out, for methods that specify simulated gastric fluid without enzyme and for acid-stage testing.
Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system and checked for pH before release. For a pH 1.5 medium see our existing Simulated Gastric Fluid BZ175.
