Biochemazone Synthetic Mouse Semen BZ536, also called artificial mouse semen, is a laboratory-formulated, ready-to-use reproductive fluid simulant that replicates the physicochemical and biochemical characteristics of natural mouse seminal fluid. It mimics the pH (about 7.3), ionic composition, protein content, energy substrates and viscosity of the natural fluid while remaining fully cell-free and non-biological.
BZ536 is intended for in vitro testing, reproductive biology research, toxicology studies and the development of assisted reproductive technology (ART). It is a safe, reproducible and ethical alternative to animal-derived seminal fluid, and removes the variability of biological samples. The standard formulation is enzyme-free and is not sterile; a sterile-filtered option is available on request.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. Because it contains protein, keep it at 2–8 °C if it is to be stored for a long time. The pH and buffer, the protein and energy substrate content, and the viscosity can be customized.
