Biochemazone Simulated Prostate Fluid BZ272, also called artificial prostate fluid, is a sterile, ready-to-use synthetic solution that simulates the composition and pH of prostate fluid, at pH 7.31. Prostate fluid averages around pH 7.31, though some classic literature cites ranges starting around 6.6 to 7.2.
The prostate secretes a fluid that nourishes and protects sperm; during ejaculation it is squeezed into the urethra and expelled with the sperm as part of semen. BZ272 is used in in vitro laboratory research as a consistent, non-human stand-in for this fluid.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The pH and the contents can be customized to the project. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
