Product Overview
Biochemazone SVF and Semen Simulant Mix BZ658 reproduces the conditions in the vagina after intercourse, when vaginal fluid and semen are present together. Products such as vaginal microbicide gels, lubricants and condom materials meet this mixture in use, so testing them in either fluid alone can miss changes in pH, viscosity and dilution.
The mix combines Biochemazone simulated vaginal fluid (pH about 4.2) with a semen simulant (pH about 7.7). Because semen buffers the acidity of the vagina, the mixture has a pH of about 6.0–7.0, depending on the ratio; the measured pH is reported for each batch. Two premixed ratios are offered, or a paired pack so you can mix your own. Both component fluids contain a small amount of bovine serum albumin (animal-derived).
Check the ratio and pH required by your protocol; other ratios can be made to order. Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
