Biochemazone Simulated Blood According to ASTM F1862 BZ364, also called artificial blood, is a sterile, ready-to-use synthetic blood at pH 7.4 prepared as per ASTM F1862 – the test method for the resistance of medical face masks to penetration by synthetic blood.
It is used by test laboratories and by manufacturers of medical face masks to run the ASTM F1862 test with a consistent test liquid, in place of human blood. The fluid is red.
Unopened, it has a 1-year shelf life at 2–30 °C and is shipped at room temperature; a preservative-free version and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The pH and the contents can be customized to the project. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
