Biochemazone Simulated Human Blood BZ353, also called artificial human blood, is a sterile, ready-to-use synthetic blood at pH 7.4. It is prepared by the standard methods ASTM F1819-07, ASTM F1670, ASTM F1862 and ASTM F2100 – the test methods and specification that assess how well protective clothing and medical face masks resist penetration by synthetic blood.
It is used by test laboratories and by manufacturers of gowns, protective clothing and face masks to run these penetration tests with a consistent test liquid, in place of human blood. The fluid is dark red.
Unopened, it has a 1-year shelf life at 2–30 °C and is shipped at room temperature; a preservative-free version and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The pH and the contents can be customized to the project. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
