Biochemazone 10X PBST BZ219 is a concentrated phosphate-buffered saline with Tween 20. Dilute 1 part with 9 parts high-purity water to get 1X PBST with 0.05% Tween 20, pH 7.4 – the standard wash buffer for Western blot, ELISA and immunostaining.

The phosphate–saline base keeps a stable, isotonic environment, while the non-ionic detergent Tween 20 removes loosely bound antibody and lowers background. The 10X format saves shelf space and shipping weight: one litre makes 10 litres of working wash buffer.

Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.

How do I make 1X PBST from BZ219?

Mix 100 mL of 10X PBST with 900 mL of high-purity water. The 1X buffer contains 0.05% Tween 20 at pH 7.4.

PBST or TBST – which should I use?

Both work for most washes. Use TBST (BZ226) when detecting phospho-proteins or using alkaline phosphatase conjugates, because phosphate can interfere.

Crystals formed in the bottle. Can I still use it?

Yes. Concentrated salt solutions can crystallise in the cold. Warm to room temperature or 37 °C and mix until clear, then dilute.

Can I use it as a blocking buffer?

Add 3–5% non-fat milk or 1–5% BSA to 1X PBST to make a blocking or antibody-dilution buffer.
