Biochemazone Human Sweat pH 5.5 Acid Solution BZ545 is a ready-to-use synthetic perspiration that replicates acidic human sweat. It is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water, so that the water does not add interfering ions to the test, and it reproduces the ionic strength, acidity and electrolyte balance of perspiration at pH 5.5 – the slightly acidic condition typical of the skin surface.
BZ545 is used for colour-fastness and perspiration-resistance testing of textiles and fabrics, for corrosion and degradation studies of metals, alloys, polymers and coatings, for the validation of skin-contact sensors and wearable devices, and in dermatological and cosmetic research on the skin surface. It suits long-term exposure studies under acidic conditions.
It is supplied not stabilized and preservative-free, with a 6-month shelf life unopened; a stabilized version with non-toxic preservatives is available on request and has a 1-year shelf life. Ionic strength, viscosity and pH within the acidic range can be adjusted on request.
