Biochemazone GMW14334 Sweat, Acidic, Non-Stabilized BZ159 is a ready-to-use, sterile acidic artificial perspiration at pH 5.5 formulated according to the GMW14334 test procedure. GMW14334 tests are designed to test the chemical resistance of automotive trim materials and components. The procedure uses an acid (pH 5.5) and an alkaline (pH 8.0) perspiration solution, because the sweat a hand leaves on a steering wheel, door handle or switch starts acidic and turns alkaline as it ages on the surface. BZ159 is the acid solution, representing fresh perspiration.
The Non-Stabilized version is preservative-free: no preservative or stabilizer is added that could affect the trim material under test. It has a 6-month shelf life unopened. The alkaline solution of the pair is BZ160; any other pH from 2 to 9 is supplied on request at no extra cost, and a stabilized version is available on request.
The solution contains amino acids, minerals and metabolites that simulate the composition and pH of human eccrine sweat, and is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system. BZ159 is used by automotive OEM suppliers, plastics, leather and coating manufacturers and test laboratories to release interior and exterior parts that occupants touch.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need both the acid and the alkaline solution?
The GMW14334 perspiration test uses both. BZ159 is the acidic solution (pH 5.5); the alkaline one (pH 8.0) is BZ160.
How long does the solution keep?
Unopened, the non-stabilized solution has a 6-month shelf life at 2–30 °C. A stabilized version with a 1-year shelf life is available on request.
