Biochemazone Artificial Perspiration, ISO 105-B07 / ISO 105-E04 Acidic Solution – pH 5.5, Stabilized BZ154 is a ready-to-use, sterile acidic artificial perspiration at pH 5.5 for the ISO textile perspiration tests. ISO 105-E04, colour fastness to perspiration, tests every specimen in two solutions – an acid one at pH 5.5 and an alkaline one at pH 8.0 – and rates the colour change and the staining of adjacent fabrics. ISO 105-B07 measures the colour fastness to light of textiles wetted with artificial perspiration. The acidic solution of the method is the L-histidine / sodium chloride / sodium dihydrogen phosphate solution at pH 5.5, representing fresh perspiration.
The Stabilized version contains a preservative / stabilizer system that prevents microbial growth and keeps the solution within specification for a full year unopened, so routine testing can run from stock without preparing fresh solution for every series. The not-stabilized, preservative-free version is BZ151; a Powder Version Kit is also available.
The alkaline solution that completes the ISO 105-E04 pair is BZ153. Prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system, every batch is standardised for composition and pH so that grey-scale ratings are reproducible between laboratories. BZ154 is used by textile mills, dye houses, garment brands and third-party laboratories; a dry kit for both solutions is BZ580 and bulk carboys are BZ581.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need the alkaline solution as well?
ISO 105-E04 tests each specimen in both an acid (pH 5.5) and an alkaline (pH 8.0) solution. BZ154 is the acidic solution; the alkaline one is BZ153.
How does BZ154 differ from BZ151?
BZ154 is stabilized, with a 1-year shelf life unopened. BZ151 is the same solution without preservative or stabilizer, with a 6-month shelf life unopened.
