Product Overview
Biochemazone DIN 53160-2:2010-10 Artificial Perspiration – Custom pH, Stabilized BZ134 is a ready-to-use, sterile artificial sweat at pH 6.5 for DIN 53160-2:2010-10, the test for the colour fastness of articles for common use to perspiration. The test shows whether colourants migrate from an article onto the skin when it is handled or worn: the article is kept in contact with a test paper soaked in the artificial sweat and the paper is then assessed for staining. The test solution is a sodium chloride / lactic acid / urea sweat adjusted to pH 6.5.
The Custom pH version is supplied at the standard pH 6.5 or, on request and at no extra cost, at any pH from 2 to 9 – for worst-case acidic or alkaline sweat and for customer-specific methods. State the pH in the order notes. It is stabilized with a preservative / stabilizer system for repeated opening and a 1-year shelf life unopened.
DIN 53160-2:2010-10 has since been consolidated with Part 1 (artificial saliva) into the single standard DIN 53160:2023-07; for the current edition see DIN 53160:2023-07 Compliant Perspiration Simulant. BZ134 remains available for specifications and customer requirements that still cite the 2010 edition. It is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
