Product Overview
Biochemazone DIN 53160-2:2010-10 Artificial Perspiration – Stabilized BZ132 is a ready-to-use, sterile artificial sweat at pH 6.5 for DIN 53160-2:2010-10, the test for the colour fastness of articles for common use to perspiration. The test shows whether colourants migrate from an article onto the skin when it is handled or worn: the article is kept in contact with a test paper soaked in the artificial sweat and the paper is then assessed for staining. The test solution is a sodium chloride / lactic acid / urea sweat adjusted to pH 6.5.
The Stabilized version contains a preservative / stabilizer system that keeps the solution free of microbial growth through repeated opening and gives a 1-year shelf life unopened, so routine colour-fastness checks can be run from the same bottle. A not-stabilized version (BZ131) and a Powder Version Kit are available for laboratories that prefer solution without preservative or stabilizer.
DIN 53160-2:2010-10 has since been consolidated with Part 1 (artificial saliva) into the single standard DIN 53160:2023-07; for the current edition see DIN 53160:2023-07 Compliant Perspiration Simulant. BZ132 remains available for specifications and customer requirements that still cite the 2010 edition. It is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
