Product Overview
Biochemazone DIN 53160:2023-07 Compliant Perspiration Simulant BZ444 is a ready-to-use, sterile artificial perspiration at pH 6.5 produced in accordance with the current DIN 53160:2023-07, Determination of the colourfastness of articles for common use. The standard replaced DIN 53160-2:2010-10 in July 2023, and its perspiration test solution corresponds to the test solution of DIN EN 1811:2023-04: sodium chloride, lactic acid and urea in purified water, adjusted to pH 6.5.
BZ444 is used to test whether colour transfers from articles that are handled or worn – toys, textiles, plastics, coatings and other consumer goods – when they are in contact with perspiration, and for abrasion tests in accordance with DIN EN 60068-2-70 in the automotive and plastics sectors. Unopened, it has a 1-year shelf life at 2–30 °C; any pH from 4 to 7 is available on request.
Prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system, BZ444 is used by manufacturers of toys and consumer goods, textile and plastics producers, and test laboratories. For the 2010 edition see DIN 53160-2:2010-10 Artificial Perspiration BZ131; for nickel release see BS EN 1811:2011 Artificial Perspiration BZ120; for the abrasion test fluid see DIN EN / IEC 60068-2-70 Sweat BZ470.
