Product Overview
Biochemazone Artificial Perspiration, ISO 105-B07 / ISO 105-E04 Acidic Solution – Not Stabilized BZ151 is a ready-to-use, sterile acid artificial perspiration at pH 5.5 for the two ISO textile perspiration tests. ISO 105-E04 measures the colour fastness of textiles to perspiration: the specimen is soaked in acid and in alkaline perspiration solution and then rated for colour change and for staining of adjacent fabrics. ISO 105-B07 measures the colour fastness to light of textiles wetted with artificial perspiration. The acid solution is the L-histidine / sodium chloride / sodium dihydrogen phosphate solution at pH 5.5.
The Not Stabilized version is preservative-free: it contains no preservative or stabilizer, for laboratories whose procedures call for perspiration solution without additives. It has a 6-month shelf life unopened. The stabilized acid solution is BZ154; the alkaline pH 8.0 solutions that complete the ISO 105-E04 pair are BZ152 (not stabilized) and BZ153 (stabilized). Other pH values from 2 to 9 are supplied at no extra cost.
Prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system, every batch is standardised for composition and pH so that grey-scale ratings are reproducible between laboratories. BZ151 is used by textile mills, dye houses, garment brands and third-party laboratories. A dry kit for both solutions is BZ580, and bulk carboys are BZ581.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need the alkaline solution as well?
ISO 105-E04 tests each specimen in both an acid (pH 5.5) and an alkaline (pH 8.0) solution. BZ151 is the acid solution; the alkaline one is BZ152 (not stabilized) or BZ153 (stabilized).
How does BZ151 differ from BZ154?
BZ151 is preservative-free, with a 6-month shelf life unopened. BZ154 is the same acid solution with a preservative / stabilizer system and a 1-year shelf life unopened.
