Product Overview
Biochemazone HEPES Buffer 1X BZ228 is a sterile, ready-to-use HEPES-buffered balanced salt solution containing calcium and magnesium, at pH 7.4. Alongside HEPES it contains sodium chloride, potassium chloride, phosphate and glucose, so cells and tissues stay in an isotonic, nutrient-supported environment while you work.
HEPES (4-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-piperazineethanesulfonic acid) buffers best between pH 6.8 and 8.2 and, unlike bicarbonate, holds the pH outside a CO2 incubator. Because Ca2+ and Mg2+ are present, calcium-dependent cell adhesion is preserved – which makes this a standard solution for cell–cell adhesion and aggregation assays and for washing cells and tissues, especially embryonic cells, before culture. It is sterile-filtered through a 0.2 µm membrane.
Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
