Biochemazone Artificial Ultrafiltrate of Blood Plasma BZ309, also called simulated or synthetic ultrafiltrate of blood plasma, is a sterile, ready-to-use solution that simulates the composition and pH of plasma ultrafiltrate, at pH 7.4. A plasma ultrafiltrate is the fluid formed when blood plasma is filtered through a membrane, as happens in the kidney, where the first step of urine formation is the ultrafiltration of plasma.
It is used in in vitro research and method development as a consistent replacement for ultrafiltrate prepared from donor plasma, which has to be collected, filtered and handled as a biological sample.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The pH and the contents can be customized to the project. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
