Biochemazone Artificial Serum Ultrafiltrate BZ307, also called simulated serum ultrafiltrate, is a sterile, ready-to-use solution that simulates the composition and pH of serum ultrafiltrate, at pH 7.4. A serum ultrafiltrate is the fluid that passes through an ultrafiltration membrane when serum – blood with the cells and clotting factors removed – is filtered.
It is used in in vitro research and method development as a consistent replacement for ultrafiltrate prepared from donor serum, which has to be collected, filtered and handled as a biological sample.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The pH and the contents can be customized to the project. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
