Biochemazone Serum Diluent BZ517 is a ready-to-use, buffered aqueous solution at about pH 7.0 to 7.4 designed to simulate the ionic strength, pH and protein-free matrix conditions of mammalian serum. It is intended for the dilution, stabilization and matrix matching of serum samples in laboratory workflows, and contains electrolytes but no protein and no enzymes.
BZ517 is used in clinical chemistry, immunoassay development, the preparation of calibrators, controls and standards, quality control and analytical validation, wherever a sample has to be diluted consistently without interfering with the analyte. It is suitable for ELISA, CLIA, enzymatic assays and spectrophotometric methods, and gives a stable, reproducible, non-biological alternative to native serum or albumin-containing diluents.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. A version with human serum albumin (HSA) is available on request, and the ionic strength and buffer system can be adjusted. For research, education and in vitro diagnostic development only.
