Biochemazone Artificial Sweat Mimic Movement Sweat BZ406 is a ready-to-use, sterile synthetic sweat at pH 6.3 formulated to mimic the sweat produced during physical movement. During exercise the body sweats faster and in larger volumes to cool itself, and the sweat changes: electrolytes such as sodium, potassium and chloride rise, and lactate appears as a by-product of energy metabolism. BZ406 starts from an artificial sweat that closely resembles human sweat and carries more lactic acid than the standard formulation, to represent movement sweat.
BZ406 is used in sports science to study hydration, electrolyte balance and thermal regulation and to test sports drinks and performance garments, by wearable-technology companies to check sensors and fitness trackers under exercise conditions, and in medical research on hyperhidrosis and disorders of thermoregulation.
It is supplied not stabilized and preservative-free, with a 6-month shelf life unopened; a stabilized version with non-toxic preservatives is available on request and has a 1-year shelf life. The pH of 6.3, the formulation and the pack size can be customized. Prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system. The general-purpose matrix is Artificial Human Sweat BZ320; the other sweat mimics are Stressed Sweat BZ405, Thermal Sweat BZ407 and Exercise Sweat BZ504.
