Biochemazone Artificial Sweat Mimic (Exercise Sweat) BZ504 is a ready-to-use, sterile synthetic sweat that simulates human perspiration during physical activity. It reproduces the high salt content, the pH and the organic compound profile of exercise-induced sweat, with physiologically relevant concentrations of sodium, potassium, calcium and chloride together with lactic acid, urea and a trace of ammonia. The standard pH is 5.3, within the range of 4.5 to 6.0, and the viscosity and conductivity are matched to sweat under exercise conditions.
BZ504 is used to evaluate the sweat resistance of wearable electronics, to test metals, fabrics and coatings for corrosion and discolouration, to check the durability of sportswear, gloves, sensors and headbands, to test deodorants, sunscreens and sweat-proof make-up, to assess patches, adhesives and skin-contact devices, and to validate sweat-sensing diagnostics. It is also used to test cleaning agents for fitness and athletic gear.
BZ504 contains a non-toxic preservative as standard, so it is supplied stabilized, with a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version is available on request. Prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system. Formulations for light, moderate or heavy perspiration can be made to order. Frequently Asked Questions
How is exercise sweat different from resting sweat?
Sweat produced during physical exertion carries more salt and more lactic acid than sweat at rest. BZ504 reproduces that profile so that products are tested against the sweat they will meet in use.
