Biochemazone Artificial Sweat JIS L 0848:1978, Method D-Alkaline (pH 8.0) BZ566 is a ready-to-use alkaline artificial perspiration prepared to the Method D alkaline test solution of the Japanese Industrial Standard JIS L 0848:1978 (test method for colour fastness to perspiration). The solution is an L-histidine / sodium chloride / sodium phosphate buffered solution adjusted to pH 8.0 – L-histidine monohydrochloride monohydrate, sodium chloride and disodium hydrogen phosphate in purified water – reproducing the alkaline sweat condition specified by the standard. JIS L 0848 Method D is supplied in two versions: Acidic (pH 5.5, BZ564) and Alkaline (pH 8.0, BZ566).
Prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system, each batch is standardised for composition and pH so that colour-fastness, corrosion and sweat-resistance results are reproducible and comparable between laboratories. It is intended for laboratories whose customer specifications, legacy test protocols or Japanese product standards call for the JIS L 0848:1978 Method D alkaline perspiration solution.
BZ566 is used for colour-fastness and staining tests on textiles, dyes and leather, for corrosion and discolouration testing of plated parts, metal accessories, watch cases and bands, eyewear frames and wearable-device housings, and for sweat-resistance evaluation of coatings, adhesives, printed labels and consumer products. ISO 105-E04, AATCC 15, EN 1811, ISO 3160-2 and ISO 11641 artificial sweat formulations are also available.
