Biochemazone Artificial Dandruff BZ293, also called synthetic or simulated dandruff, is a light yellow, dry flake powder that stands in for the skin flakes of dandruff. It is ready to use as supplied.
Dandruff is a skin condition that mainly affects the scalp; its signs are flaking and sometimes mild itchiness, and a more severe form with inflammation of the skin is known as seborrhoeic dermatitis. BZ293 gives a consistent, non-human flake material for testing anti-dandruff shampoos and scalp-care products and for cleaning-performance tests, in place of flakes collected from people.
Unopened, it has a 1-year shelf life at 2–30 °C and is shipped at room temperature. Other compositions can be made to the customer’s specification. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
