Biochemazone Artificial Bone Marrow Fluid BZ268, also called simulated bone marrow fluid, is a sterile, ready-to-use simulant of bone marrow fluid at pH 7.4. It simulates the composition and pH of the fluid of bone marrow – the soft, richly vascularized tissue inside the spongy portions of bone, where new blood cells are produced (hematopoiesis).
It is used in in vitro laboratory research and method development as a consistent, non-biological stand-in for marrow fluid, without the collection, donor-to-donor variation and biosafety handling that a biological sample brings. The fluid is dark red.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The pH and the contents can be customized to the project. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
