Biochemazone Simulated Bone Marrow Medium BZ373, also called synthetic bone marrow medium, is a sterile, ready-to-use medium at pH 7.4 that simulates the composition and pH of the fluid environment of bone marrow – the soft, richly vascularized tissue inside the spongy portions of bone, where new blood cells are produced (hematopoiesis).
It is used in in vitro laboratory research and method development as a consistent, non-biological stand-in for the marrow environment, without the collection, donor-to-donor variation and biosafety handling that a biological sample brings. The medium is red.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The pH and the contents can be customized to the project. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
