Biochemazone Simulated Adipose Tissue Interstitial Fluid BZ454, also called SATIF or artificial adipose tissue interstitial fluid, is a ready-to-use synthetic solution designed to replicate the properties of natural adipose tissue interstitial fluid, at pH 7.3. It contains water, electrolytes and biomolecules, which mimic the physical and chemical characteristics of the natural fluid. The standard formulation is set at pH 7.3. Its viscosity and density are matched to the natural fluid, and it stays stable through the test.
Research laboratories use it to study the interactions between adipose tissue interstitial fluid and various cell types, including nutrient transport, waste removal and fluid balance, and in assays that investigate adipose tissue biomarkers. It is also used to test and calibrate medical and research devices that interact with adipose tissue or related fluids, such as diagnostic tools for metabolic assessment, in research on adipose tissue function, obesity and metabolic disorders, and in training in endocrinology, metabolic research and tissue engineering, without the need for actual adipose tissue samples.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request.
