Biochemazone Simulated Hepatic Fluid BZ264, also called artificial hepatic fluid, is a sterile, ready-to-use solution that simulates the composition and pH of the fluid of the liver, at pH 7.60.
The liver regulates most chemical levels in the blood and makes bile, which carries waste away and helps to break down fats in the small intestine. All the blood leaving the stomach and intestines passes through the liver, which processes nutrients and metabolizes drugs into forms that the body can use or that are non-toxic. BZ264 gives a consistent, non-human stand-in for hepatic fluid for in vitro hepatic and digestion research.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The pH and the contents can be customized to the project. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
