Biochemazone Phagolysosomal Simulant Fluid (PSF) BZ262, also called artificial phagolysosomal body fluid, is a sterile, ready-to-use solution that simulates the composition and pH of phagolysosomal fluid. It can be used directly and is supplied at pH 4.5; the pH can be customized to the project requirement.
Lysosomes are acidic compartments of the cell, filled with more than 60 different types of hydrolases, and they mediate the degradation of extracellular particles that the cell has taken up. BZ262 simulates the acidic environment inside phagolysosomes and is used in dissolution studies of inhaled particles and fibres.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The stabilizer, pH and contents can be customized to the project. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
