Product Overview

Biochemazone 1X TE Buffer, pH 7.4 BZ230 is a ready-to-use Tris-EDTA solution at near-neutral pH for dissolving, diluting and storing DNA and for washing steps in nucleic acid purification.

It contains 10 mM Tris-HCl and 1 mM EDTA at pH 7.4. The EDTA chelates the divalent cations that nucleases need, while the near-neutral pH suits protocols that specify pH 7.4 rather than the more common pH 8.0. The solution is autoclaved and supplied DNase-free.

Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between TE pH 7.4 and TE pH 8.0?

Both contain 10 mM Tris-HCl and 1 mM EDTA. TE pH 8.0 (BZ210) is the most common choice for DNA storage; TE pH 7.4 is used when a protocol specifies a near-neutral pH.

What is the composition of BZ230?

10 mM Tris-HCl and 1 mM EDTA, adjusted to pH 7.4, in high-purity water.

Can DNA in TE go straight into PCR or enzyme reactions?

Yes, in small volumes. EDTA chelates magnesium, so for large additions use EDTA-free 10 mM Tris-HCl (BZ234).

Is BZ230 sterile?

Yes. It is autoclaved and supplied DNase-free. Use aseptic, nuclease-free technique after opening.

How should TE buffer pH 7.4 be stored?

Store at 2–30 °C, tightly closed. Unopened bottles have a 1-year shelf life and ship at room temperature.
