Product Overview
Biochemazone Synthetic Canine Cerumen BZ672 is a standardised dog ear wax for testing ear cleaners (cerumenolytics) and the spread and diffusion of otic medicines. It replaces variable wax collected from dogs with one uniform material, so that products can be ranked under the same conditions.
The wax is a blend of squalene, fatty acid esters, sterol esters and triglycerides, with triglycerides as the largest part, in proportions based on published analyses of canine cerumen used in ear-cleaner studies. It is a soft, brown, semi-solid lipid. As a lipid it has no pH of its own; water in contact with it stays at about pH 6.0–7.0, close to the normal canine ear canal (about pH 6). The sterol esters (cholesterol esters) are usually of animal origin.
It complements our human Artificial Cerumen (BZ171). Check the composition against the study method you follow. Made under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
