Biochemazone Simulated Cervico Vaginal Fluid BZ372 is a sterile, ready-to-use cervico-vaginal fluid simulant at pH 4.5, slightly viscous with a gel-like look. It simulates the properties of vaginal fluid that govern how the fluid interacts with vaginally applied products; among these, pH and osmolarity play the dominant role in the physicochemical processes that control drug release and distribution.
It is used to study the in vitro release of medications given by the vaginal route, and to evaluate how cervico-vaginal fluid influences the performance of vaginally applied topical therapeutic, contraceptive and prophylactic formulations.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The pH and the contents can be customized to the project. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
