Product Overview
Biochemazone EN Interfering Substance Solutions BZ583 are the sterile bovine albumin solutions that European disinfectant and antiseptic test standards add to every test to represent the organic load of real use. They are supplied at the ten-times stock concentration used in the standard test procedure, where 1 part interfering substance is mixed with 1 part test suspension and 8 parts product.
Clean conditions give a final concentration of 0.3 g/L bovine albumin in the test (3 g/L stock). Dirty conditions give 3 g/L bovine albumin in the test (30 g/L stock). These are the clean and dirty albumin levels listed for the medical area (for example EN 13727, EN 13624, EN 14476) and the food, industrial, domestic and institutional area (for example EN 1276, EN 1650, EN 13697). The medical-area dirty condition also requires sheep erythrocytes, which the laboratory adds separately.
The solutions are prepared from bovine albumin fraction V in ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water, sterilised by membrane filtration and have a pH of about 7.0 (range 6.5–7.5). They are produced under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
