ASTM D4265-21 Artificial Sebum (BZ539) is a high-quality laboratory-formulated synthetic skin lipid system designed to replicate the composition and behavior of human sebum. It consists of a balanced mixture of fatty acids, triglycerides, wax esters, cholesterol derivatives, and other lipid components that simulate natural skin surface secretions.
It is widely used in dermatological studies, cosmetic formulation testing, textile evaluation, surface fouling studies, and material compatibility research to simulate realistic skin-oil interactions.
Storage and Transportation
Store Artificial Sebum at 2–8 °C to maintain lipid stability and prevent oxidation. The product can be transported at room temperature for short periods without affecting performance. Avoid prolonged exposure to heat, light, or air to preserve chemical integrity and prevent lipid degradation.
Usage Restrictions
This product is strictly intended for research and in vitro laboratory use only. It must be handled by trained professionals in controlled laboratory environments. It is not intended for clinical, diagnostic, therapeutic, or human/animal application.
