Biochemazone Artificial Sebaceous Gland Secretion BZ424 is a ready-to-use synthetic solution designed to replicate the physical and chemical properties of the secretion of the sebaceous glands. It contains components that simulate the composition of natural sebum – lipids, wax esters, triglycerides and fatty acids – and is adjusted in viscosity, density and colour to resemble the natural secretion, so that it behaves and looks like sebum in a test.
BZ424 is used by research laboratories to study skin function and pathology, to assess skin biomarkers and to simulate sebaceous gland conditions; to test and calibrate medical devices and skincare products that interact with sebaceous secretions; and for training and education in dermatological and cosmetic studies without the need for natural secretions. It is offered in a liquid and a semisolid (ointment-like) texture – order either one, or both for evaluation.
BZ424 is supplied not stabilized and preservative-free, with a 1-year shelf life unopened; a stabilized version with non-toxic preservatives is available on request.
