Product Overview
Biochemazone Artificial Saliva for Drug Testing BZ402 is a ready-to-use, sterile artificial saliva at pH 6.8 used as a laboratory matrix when oral-fluid drug tests are developed and quality-checked. It simulates the mineral composition and pH of natural saliva and contains viscosity enhancers, so that it wets a collection pad and flows through a test device as real oral fluid does. It is a drug-free control material and is not a substitute for a real specimen.
BZ402 is used by manufacturers of oral-fluid drug tests and by toxicology laboratories: as the negative matrix, as the base for calibrators and controls spiked with the drugs of interest at known concentrations, for cut-off and cross-reactivity studies, for recovery from collection devices, and for training operators. It is also used in pharmaceutical research on drug dissolution in saliva and delivery through the oral mucosa.
It is supplied not stabilized and preservative-free, with a 6-month shelf life unopened; a stabilized version is available on request and has a 1-year shelf life. Enzymes can be added to order, and the pH can be customized. This solution is intended for product testing and research, not for in vivo use.
