Product Overview

Biochemazone Artificial Chyme BZ398, also called artificial or simulated chyme fluid, is a sterile, ready-to-use solution that simulates the composition and pH of chyme, at pH 2.0. The pH of chyme ranges from 1.5 to 2.5, and the standard formulation is fixed at 2.0.

Chyme is the partly digested, acid mixture of food and gastric juice that leaves the stomach for the small intestine. BZ398 gives a consistent, non-human stand-in for it for in vitro digestion research.

It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The pH and the contents can be customized to the project. It is an acid solution, so wear a lab coat and gloves. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment. For gastric fluid see Simulated Gastric Fluid (SGF) pH 1.5 (BZ175); for the fluid it meets next see Simulated Duodenal Fluid (BZ299).
